Shooting in Connecticut

At Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut there was a mass shooting. The man who was the murderer killed over 20 people. He had a son going there, as well as his mother, who was working there. He then was found dead as well, whether it was a suicide or the police killed him, it doesn’t matter. I know this might sound harmful, but when it comes to kids who are 10 or younger, that’s just horrible and a disgrace, and I’d never thought I'd say this but I have no sympathy or sorrow for the killer's death. Maybe he had other issues, mentally and physically but there is no right to kill children, children who haven't even experienced life. The pain their families are now going through, no matter who you are, makes you want to cry.

http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/12/14/shooting-reported-at-connecticut-elementary-school/?hpt=hp_t1 <= on this website you can find video links and pictures of the terrible event and how no kid should ever have to see or have that memory in their head ever. Eighteen to twenty, kindergarten through fourth-graders were killed, and then 10 or more was the staff, all we have broken hearts for and prayers, and then one other the person who created this whole ordeal, whom everyone wished this man would never do, and they have no sympathy or prayers for him.

These kids still had their whole life to still go through, and it’s not just their lives who will be hurt, its their families, friends, teachers, and other students who will come after them. Classmates who knew these kids will never fully understand why the girl or boy who sat next to them was oh so nice is gone and will never be coming back. Kids should never have to go through this or have the thought of it in the back of their mind. Even kids and parents, who are nowhere near Connecticut, are still worried that, it could have been their school and their kid. The President and Government need to reconsider the right to bear arms of the amendment because what has happened in the past couple years, with the dark night killing and now an elementary school, definitely deserves revision.

Where are they now?
When we last left President Barack Obama and Govner Mitt Romney was a very heated and close presidential campaign. It was tough but Obama won by a strand at the end, when it came to a close, but where are they now might you ask?
Well both of them made a pretty awesome appearance at the William Fremd Highscool's Variety Show, and I must say they were spectacular fighting in rounds of boxing, light sabers, and more!
Besides their funny and offical appearance, Obama is now talking about how the United States might need to have another war with Syria. Obama has also been talkign about how he wants to understand climate change and what is going on in our country today. Obama has also promise to support the people of Burma. Our President suddenly getting thrown with new tasks on his second termwill be tough and hard but he can do it!
Romney, having been defeated is now back as Govner and will most likely stya like that. He still thinks his mormon beliefs should have triu, phed over Obama for presidency.
Overall our two used-to-be candidates are both doing well!

Israel- Palestine (Hamas) Gaza

Burst of explosions went off in Gaza recently and now people are starting to wonder if this is a start to a new war.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6WpSuqpPJk < this is a youtube video I found of the news talking about it and the attacks. Gaza would fire on Israel. Targerts were militant groups and many people died. An 11 month old died when he never did anything. In my opinion it is wrong to use violence to solve anything. People should talks and have back ups. Innocent people die when they never deserved to but only did because on their enemies. What could this war between the two mean for the united states?!

Legalization of Marijuana

Marijuana was officially legalized in colorado on November 6, 2012. It is now the 64th amendment with approval 54.83 % of votes. It was defeated in 2006 and is now approved. People, mostly teens, joke that they are going to move to colorado for Cannabis because it's legal and they can just use it freely now but it isn't a joke to me. Whether its alcohol or marijuana it isn't safe either way to drive with it and yes its fair now that they are both starting to become legal but it's still dangerous. You cannot also just walk around freely with it, it's not for pleasure use but for medical use, it helps ease pain, real pain, and not just get you "feeling good". I believe Marijuana should be legal everywhere but not for use of fun and stupidity, but for of age people and people who actually use it to help with pain and ease their way through something like cancer.

Wal-mart

A bunch of people say how they hate Wal-mart, personally I am not a fan of Wal-mart. I just haven't had good experiences and I never go there because my mom doesn't like it either. I think when you go there it is mostly how you decide to spend your time and money there. "Consumers most often shop with their wallet, not with political precepts"(Karen De Coster and Brad Edmonds, The Case for Wal-mart), this quote says that we just spend what we have in our wallets and then complain that the store itself is too expensive and not cheap at all like in the commercials, but in reality we spend with what we have in our wallets without thinking instead of thinking logically. Wal-mart's employers complain they don't have the money they need to keep their home going but Wal-mart has many workers you can't except a pay that is at the level of a lawyer or business owner when you are worker a job a highschool kid could get. Wal-mart is not one of my favorite stores but I admit that it does have low prices and nice things for the consumer but it's a different story for the employers.

The Presidential debate

At the first debate Romney seemed to have taken Obama down, but I think that was Obama's tactic and then to come back strong in his last two debates. Biden held a pretty strong end when it came to the Vice Presidential debate but Ryan seemed very prepared. Obama is a democrat whom I am for if I could legally vote. Romney is a republican with different view than mine so I do not agree with everything he says. Some of the big topics that separate these two are the discussions of abortion, taxes, and jobs/education. Abortion is one of the stronger topics I have feeling for. I feel Obama has the hand of abortion. I think the topic would be very different if two woman were running for president. These candidates are men, so they have no clue what they are talking about when it comes to abortion in my opinion except for the face that "it is a relationship between the mother and herself or doctor and I will not force my beliefs on to others." as Biden stated at the vice president campaign. Separation of church and state! Now taxes in my opinion both candidates could work on. I feel each person able to pay taxes whether rich or poor should pay the same. People who are rich worked for their lives now why should they have to pay more for working harder? Then again just because you are poor doesn't mean you should pay more either, but you shouldn't blame the rich for that and make them pay more taxes. As for education/ jobs I feel both candidates could make jobs, but four years of Obama already in office proves it, four years of Romney's non-exsistence in office doesn't show anything. "If I took this table and broke it in eight minutes could you fix it in four? It's not possible, so since bush messed up our country in eight years, you can't expect Obama to fix it in four years"(John Park, classmate). It's impossible for Obama to fix all the mess a republican has caused in just four years, if bush got eight years to ruin it then Obama deserves eight to fix it. So far though Obama is doing a pretty damn good job.

"The Accident of Geography"

"The Archbishop spoke poignantly about the “accident of geography,” insisting that we cannot let this accident determine the future of young girls, and pledging that he will devote the same commitment and energy to ending child marriage as he did to ending apartheid."(Vital Voices Global Partnership article)
http://www.vitalvoices.org/node/2129
In Burma woman, children, and girls are looked down upon or as Daw Aung San Suu Kyi says "women in Burma remain “second citizens.”" I think the Archbishop tutu is correct, this seeing of woman being second to men and not equal was an accident in the world that should have never occurred to begin with and now that its still in present day in Burma is even worse. Woman should not have to give themselves to a man to be married when she is still only a child and he is near his last days of living. I think child marriage should definitely end because girls need to be children not woman who marry and live a life without childhood and their teens years.
